Human Rights Day is observed every year on December 10th. This day commemorates the adoption of the UDHR by the United Nations in 1948.
This day is a momentous occasion dedicated to acknowledging and celebrating the fundamental rights and freedoms that every individual is entitled to.
On December 10th, 1948, the United Nations General Assembly made something called the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) talks about 30 really important rights and freedoms that everyone should have.
UDHR has been translated into more than 500 languages so that everyone can understand and know their rights.
The Theme of Human Rights Day 2023 is Freedom, Equality, and Justice for All.
Some international organizations that fight for human rights - Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Oxfam International, The International Rescue Committee etc.
These are just a few examples of the numerous international organizations actively engaged in the human rights arena.
