Earned Leave Rules for Central Govt Employees

The Central Government provides many types of leave but Earned Leave is very important for central government employees.

Earned Leave is available to all central government employees without any term and condition 

Earned Leave is added in advance on 1st January and 1st July every year in the Leave Account of a government employee.

15 Earned Leaves are credited in advance on the 1st of January and 15 on 1st of  July every year i.e. a government employee earns 30 Earned Leave in a year

A Central Government employee can accumulate maximum number of 300 earned leave in his entire service period

These 300 leaves are in addition to the leave encashed by the employee during the service period.

These 300 Earned Leave are after the EL encashed by the employee during the Leave Travel Concession.

If a govt employee does not avail Earned Leave added after 300, they will be lapsed in next cycle.
