24th January- Celebrating the Power of Girlhood: National Girl Child Day 2024
Every year on January 24th, we celebrate National Girl Child Day to raise awareness about the challenges faced by girls
National Girl Child Day was established by the Ministry of Women and Child Development in 2008.Since then, every year the day is celebrated across India
But the roots of National Girl Child Day burrow deeper, intertwined with the launch of the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (Save the Girl Child, Educate the Girl Child) campaign in 2005.
Education is one of the most powerful tools for empowering girls. When girls are educated, they are more likely to be healthy and participate in their communities.
Child marriage is a serious problem in India, with millions of girls being married before the age of 18. Child marriage has a devastating impact on girls' lives,
We must work to break down gender stereotypes and discrimination, and to ensure that girls have equal opportunities in all aspects of life.
We can support organizations that work with girls, speak out against gender discrimination, and educate ourselves about the challenges faced by girls.
National Girl Child Day is a reminder that we must continue to fight for the rights of girls in India.
