World Mental Health Day History and significance. Theme of World Mental Health Day 2023

World  Mental Health Day 2023

World Mental Health Day is celebrated on October 10th every year to raise awareness of mental health issues and promote measures to manage them.

Mental health holds an equal importance to physical health, yet it is often overlooked or stigmatized within society.

Mental health conditions can impact individuals irrespective of age,  gender, race, or socioeconomic status, affecting their thoughts,  emotions, and behaviors.

World Mental Health Day was first established in 1992 by the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH).

The WFMH is a global mental health organization that works to promote mental health and prevent mental illness.

The WFMH chose October 10th as World Mental Health Day because it is the  anniversary of the founding of the World Health Organization.

The theme for World Mental Health Day 2023 is “Mental health is a universal human right.”

This theme emphasizes that mental health is important for everyone,  regardless of their age, race, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic  status.

World Mental Health Day is an important day because it raises awareness  of mental health issues and promotes  measures  to manage  them.
